So why can't anyone hand me back my credit card when they are done swiping it or whatever? They wait until they are totally done and then hand it back with the receipt. Then we both have to wait while it all goes back into my wallet. If they had handed me the card back first then everything would be faster.

Would it be possible to change the scoop setup so that http://www.hulver.com/~hulver/diary/ will go to your diary like it does on that other site? I always forget to put the scoop/ in the middle and it's an extra six characters out of my life.

I have a friend who is trying to find a film festival in GBia for his film about Texas Barbecue (there are clips on the web site if you are interested). Are there any that you would suggest?

I am an American living in UKia. All the time I have to listen to the crap about how Americans do not have any international news and that only 5 percent of Americans have passports according to Anne Robinson.

If I may borrow a word from my British brethren here: bollocks.

You are Prudence Bushnell, U.S. deputy assistant secretary of state for African affairs.

Kevin Aiston, the State Department desk officer for Rwanda, walks into your office, and tells you that a plane crashed and the presidents of both Rwanda and Burundi were on board.

I am visiting Kingston-upon-Hull next weekend. I signed up for a program that hosts international students in a British home for a weekend. My host expects me to have some ideas of what I want to do in Hull. So I look it up in my England guidebook, and voila, nada.

Not a good sign.

Then I found out I had already signed up some time ago. Either that or someone made a fake account with username grouse and my e-mail address, and then never used it.
